General

Malassezia pachydermatis is a yeast that is normally part of the skin flora and is found in small amounts on the skin.

The yeast Malassezia pachydermatis does not normally cause any problems. However, when the skin flora becomes disturbed, this yeast can grow excessively and cause skin problems. This can happen due to various factors that affect the microclimate of the skin, such as:

  • Atopy
  • Allergies
  • Parasites
  • Moisture
  • Other skin problems
